Jean-Baptiste holds a Master's degree in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). His research thesis focused on a system for circulating artworks through lending, exploring the modes of existence of the works and the contexts of individuation with them. He conducted an ethnographic study in an art library, employing various methodologies such as producing descriptions, analyzing documents, conducting interviews, and recording videos.
He is currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Sylvain Parasie, focusing on the formation of publics mobilized against air pollution. Within a heterogeneous data production environment concerning air pollution, his research examines whether this phenomenon of granularization still allows for the existence of a common measurement space. The development and use of individual and digital air pollution sensors are central to his investigation. His methodological approach combines ethnographic and digital inquiries in two cities, Paris and Buenos Aires. His research lies at the intersection of environmental sociology, mobilizations, and the digital realm.
