Journée numérique & écologie au prisme des sciences sociales

This event is intended for researchers who explore the promises, practices, and tensions between digital technologies and ecology.

On a day dedicated to researchers and practitioners exploring the promises, practices, and tensions between digital technologies and ecology, the work featured in two recent thematic journal issues will be presented: "Écologiser par le numérique?" (Réseaux no. 144) and "Environmental Materialities of the Digital" (Reset no. 15).

The morning will open with a keynote lecture by Laurence Allard (Associate Professor, Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle), and the afternoon will conclude with a roundtable discussion offering multidisciplinary perspectives.

Jean-Baptiste Garrocq, a PhD candidate at the médialab, will present his article published in Réseaux, titled “Questioning Pollution on the Street Corner: Forms of Critique within a Network of Air Pollution Micro-Sensors.”

Practical Information

This event will take place in person on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, in room L108 B at École des Mines de Paris, 60 Boulevard Saint-Michel, 75006 Paris.
