Troubling AI : A call for screenshots

The médialab, in collaboration with the Centre for Digital Culture and the Centre for Attention Studies at the Digital Futures Institute of King's College London, along with the Public Data Lab, is organizing a call for participation. This project aims to explore how screenshots can complicate our understanding of artificial intelligence (AI).

Notice, Call for contributions

Screenshots are perhaps one of the most familiar and accessible data capture methods today. Regarding AI, they are often shared for various social and political reasons and have become a key tool for highlighting the challenges and missteps of artificial intelligence (AI), from racial biases in search results to inappropriate chatbot responses.

This call for participation aims to gather diverse views on AI's oddities and troubling aspects by encouraging the submission of screenshots that reveal these interactions. By sharing your experiences, you will help shape a collective perspective on how AI is reshaping our daily interactions and social norms.

We invite you to document these moments with screenshots accompanied by your thoughts on why they concern you. This initiative is open to your personal interpretation: what aspect of AI do you find disturbing, and why ?

Participate in this call by sharing your screenshots, whether they come from a phone, laptop, or any other screen recording device, including videos.

Submit your contributions via the form available here by November 15, 2024.

Your selected images may be featured in an online publication and a workshop, subject to your agreement and with proper credit for your contribution.
