Gabriel Alcaras is a sociologist and postdoctoral researcher at the médialab. His research focuses on the production of digital infrastructures, the use of digital technologies in the world of work, and methodological issues (qualitative, quantitative, and computational) in the social sciences.

At the médialab, he works on the “Ecology of LLM  Practices” (EL2MP) project, which seeks to understand how generative artificial intelligence fits into ordinary working practices.

On May 25, 2026, the researcher spoke at Les Chantiers de la Recherche, a France Culture podcast. He had the opportunity to present the EL2MP project and its initial results, explaining how LLMs are being integrated into everyday work and what this means for the professional world.
