Tamara Spitzer-Hobeika is a PhD candidate at New York University’s department of Media, Culture, and Communication (MCC), and a doctoral associate at Sciences Po’s médialab in Paris. She studies the political technologies that serve as infrastructure (for communication and mobilizing) for electoral and citizen-led campaigns. She is also interested in how platforms and AI mediate sociality and deliberation.
Prior to undertaking doctoral studies, Tamara worked in research and communications at various think tanks and institutions, including: the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington DC, the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy (PCMPL) in Oxford, and the Institut des relations internationales et stratégiques (IRIS) in Paris.
Tamara holds a bachelor's in political science from Princeton University and a master's in literature from Oxford University.
