Call for applications for a study on intellectual exchanges between France and the United States

The medialab is launching a call for service providers for a study on the circulation of researchers and intellectuals between France and the United States.

Notice, Call for applications

The FAST research project (led by the medialab) is seeking one or more service providers for a dual research mission including the creation of a corpus and its analysis.

Service requested

The mission consists of carrying out a description and analysis of the mobility of foreign researchers and intellectuals — born outside of France and the United States — circulating between their country of origin, France and the United States.

  • The first deliverable will be the production of a database of these knowledge producers.
  • A second deliverable will offer an analysis of this database, initially using descriptive statistics to characterize these populations, then offering a prosopographic study of the main producers. A literature review is also expected as a preamble to this deliverable.

Candidates are invited to contact the project leader (vincent.lepinay@sciencespo.fr) to discuss, prior to their proposal, the outlines of the database and the metadata deemed relevant. Other suggestions for database enrichment will naturally be taken into account when evaluating the proposals. Candidates are asked to provide a detailed breakdown of their quotes in order to justify their expense items.

Calendar

We would like the work to begin in April 2026 and be completed no later than December 1, 2026.

Submission of applications

This call for applications aims to collect application files (quotes, CV(s), methodological suggestions) to be sent to the FAST project manager (vincent.lepinay@sciencespo.fr) before March 15, 2026.

The answers can relate to both lots described or to only one.
