About Sciences Po and the medialab

Sciences Po is an international research university that is selective, open to the world and one of the most competitive in the humanities and social sciences.

Created in 2009, the médialab is a university host team whose research aims to explore the transformations of our societies based on traces and new forms of digital expression. Working closely with computer science and design, the médialab team seeks to devise techniques for exploring digital worlds and to set up mechanisms for public participation and involvement.

The Medialab also plays a strategic role at the heart of Sciences Po's research community, providing support for projects involving the study of digital worlds. Combining a variety of approaches (IT development, sociology, data visualisation, design, controversy mapping), the laboratory has designed numerous digital tools and methods to support social science projects.
