Salle K.011, 1 place Saint Thomas d'Aquin 75007 Paris

Abstract

The presentation offers a critique of the political economy of the media public sphere (PS) in the context of the polycrisis and the widespread digitisation of our societies. It revisits the canonical conception of the PS, highlighting its merits and limitations. Finally, it questions the effects of the platformisation of the IAG on the contemporary media system and describes the structural pathologies of the digital public sphere in the neoliberal era.
