First workshop of the "État de l'art" project.

Event, Workshop

Salle du LIEPP, 254 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75007 Paris

Médialab at Sciences Po, the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) in collaboration with the Videomuseum association, are organizing, with the support of LIEPP, the first workshop on data provided by the Fonds national d’art contemporain (FNAC).

This national collection, dating back to the French Revolution, is managed by the Cnap. The mission of the institution is to promote the art scene in all its diversity, to promote emerging talent on the French and international scene, and to enrich and disseminate the collection.

Programm

Over three days (September 27-29), researchers in art history and the social sciences, experts on this specific art collection, engineers, and designers will gather together and work on this rich collection’s database, and test research hypotheses by exploring and visualizing information. A demonstration will be organized subsequently to present to the community of interested researchers some of the initial exploitable results and a working method compatible with other areas of culture.
