médialab's contributions at FOSDEM 2023

Like every year for half a decade now, members of médialab's tech, design and social sciences teams took the opportunity of FOSDEM to present some of their latest work building and/or using free softwares.

Chronique

The FOSDEM is an international yearly conference organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. After 2 years of online-only conferences, the event took place again on-site at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the first week-end of february.

The medialab’s community strongly contributed to FOSDEM this year by giving 4 talks within the Graph Systems and Algorithms devroom and the Open Science Tools and Technology devroom. Created 3 years ago by former médialab’s members, the Open Science Tools and Technology devroom, was once again co-organised this year by Diego Antolinos-Basso.

Extras

Many friends and former médialab members were also present and gave a variety of great talks:

"Coming back on-site was also the opportunity to add one more year to my photography project entitled Faces of Fosdem, available on my personal website."
